Welcome to Hawks Nest, about 3 hours north of Sydney. Surf beach on one side, the calm waters of Port Stephens on the other, and a local dolphin pod that's been known to drop by. Jimmy's Beach is home base and Hawks Nest Golf Club hosts the party for the 17th installment of TamaSlama!

Planning for HawkSlam

The Plan

Hawks Nest is about 3 hours' drive north of Sydney. Most of the crew will roll in Friday afternoon, check in at Jimmy's Beach and kick things off with arrival drinks from 6pm. Saturday is tournament day: first serve is 10am, so come down early for a warm-up. Lunch is on us. Then we head to Hawks Nest Golf Club for the post party from 6:30pm and the Slam DJs take us into the night!

Weekend Schedule:

Friday 12th - 6:00pm Arrival drinks

Saturday 13th - 10:00am Tournament start (lunch included); 6:30pm Post party at Hawks Nest Golf Club

Sunday 14th - Check out and head home

Accommodation

This time we've got a home base: Reflections Jimmy's Beach holiday park in Hawks Nest, a short hop from the beach and the Golf Club. It's the go-to for the crew, I'm booking out the entire place so contact me if you want a Cabin (5 pax), Tiny House (2 pax), Glamping Tents (5 pax) or powered Camp Site (6 pax).

Local Tips

Make a weekend of it and soak up the coast. A few local favourites:

Walk up Yacaaba Headland for the views
Wander over the Singing Bridge to Tea Gardens
Swim or paddle in Myall Lakes National Park
Squeeze in a round at Hawks Nest Golf Club

Food

Your Slam ticket covers lunch and dinner on on tournament day (Saturday the 13th). Outside of that, Hawks Nest and Tea Gardens have plenty of cafes and takeaway options, all a few minutes from Jimmy's Beach.

The Party

Saturday day is for volley but Saturday night we get down... From 6:30pm we take over Hawks Nest Golf Club for the post party, with your beloved SLAM DJs on the decks.

Family

In keeping with TamaSlama tradition, we hope the whole family will join us for HawkSlam.

The next generation of slammers has been showing up strong at recent Slams, so watch your back boomers!

What to bring?

Other than your chilled out tama slammer vibe...a few items to consider:

Fancy Dress!
Cool Cabana or simple beach umbrella for shade
Soft cooler bag or Eskee for your byo drinks on Satur-day - please bring cans not bottles! (or plastic cups)
Beach Towel
